Israel-Palestine Conflict | Ramaphosa reaffirms calls for peace

JOHANNESBURG – President Cyril Ramaphosa has used his New Year’s message to emphasise the call for a ceasefire in Gaza and support for Palestinians.

Ramaphosa says that a dialogue towards lasting peace has to be established.

The South African government has instituted proceedings against Israel at the International Court of Justice over its actions in its war with Hamas.

“As a country that itself emerged from a bitter past to build a united nation, we will continue to work for reconciliation, peace, and an end to conflict and war,” he said.
