Brazil’s all-time top scorer may be out of the spotlight since leaving Europe and Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, but he’s still plenty famous enough to leave young fans sobbing.

The Al Hilal forward, who is out for the season with an ACL injury, has only just returned from a three-day boat cruise that he hosted for fans.
Taking some time on the treatment table to recuperate from a heavy week on his crutches, Neymar was approached by the son of former international teammate Marcelo, and left him stunned.
In a clip posted on Instagram, Marcelo’s son Liam is seen wearing Neymar’s no.10 Al Hilal shirt waiting nervously to meet his hero.
He then finally arrives in the room with his father and his idol, and can’t hold it together as he gets a hug from the former PSG, Barcelona and Santos man.
Neymar played alongside Marcelo for eight years with Brazil, before the latter’s retirement in 2018.
The pair were opposing rivals in El Clasico too, with Marcelo winning five Champions League titles with Real Madrid, while Neymar took an incredible European treble with Barcelona in 2015.
Despite stepping away from elite level football with his Saudi Pro League record £86million move to Al Hilal, Neymar remains part of Brazil’s line-up.
He took the record as the country’s all-time top scorer from Pele in September by scoring his 78th and 79th international goals against Bolivia.

However, in the next October international break, he tore his ACL, ruling him out of the 2023/24 season, and also the 2024 Copa America.
