Veteran photographer Peter Magubane has died.

Renowned photojournalist and struggle icon Peter Magubane has died at the age of 91.
The SA National Editors’ Forum said in a social media post that according to Magubane’s family, he died at around midday on New Year’s Day, “peacefully surrounded by his family” at his home.
The award-winning photojournalist is best known for documenting inequality during apartheid, including the 1976 June 16 student uprising.
