Just a week before the CES 2024, Samsung has unveiled the new Odyssey OLED gaming monitors, which are all set to debut in the upcoming tech event in Las Vegas.
In the official press release, Samsung shared details about the new monitors. As mentioned earlier, the three new monitors, Odyssey OLED G9, Odyssey OLED G8, and the Odyssey OLED G6 will have OLED displays. Further, the monitors will be equipped with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 for vivid colors and support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for low-latency gaming.
The Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD model) is a curved 49-inch ultra-wide gaming monitor. This display comes with a DQHD (Dual Quad High Definition) 5120x1440p resolution and a 32:9 aspect ratio. As far as gaming go, the display will offer a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time.
Next up, there is Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model), which is the first 32-inch OLED gaming monitor. The display offers a 4K resolution along with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 450 nits of brightness. Much like the G9 model, this monitor also features a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time.
Users will be able to access Samsung’s cloud-based Gaming Hub as well as Samsung’s smart TV platform on the Odyssey G9 and Odyssey G8 monitors. These two monitors also offer Samsung SmartThings Hub, which lets users connect to other IoT devices.
Finally, the lineup has a smaller monitor – the flat-screened 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model). The display comes with a QHD resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Further, the monitor boasts a 360Hz refresh rate, which is more than the two monitors described above.
To add to this, the new Odyssey displays (including the G6) will feature two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a USB hub. Plus, they also feature the Core Lighting+, which is ambient light getting emitted from the back of the monitor.
So far, no details about the price range have been revealed. The new Odyssey OLED lineup is all set to debut at the CES 2024, where we are expecting more information.
