Kaizer Chiefs have been impressed with Zimbabwean coach Kallisto Pasuwa who wrapped up an amazing quadruple with Malawi club Nyasa Big Bullets on the weekend.
Siya sources have indicated that Chiefs may have inquired about the availability of Pasuwa, according to insiders privy to information.

The sources have added that the Nyasa Big Bullets coach has also attracted interest from Richards Bay in the PSL and Vipers in Uganda. The KwaZulu-Natal club is currently coached by another Zimbabwean mentor, Kaitano Tembo, while Amakhosi had appointed Cavin Johnson as their interim boss in recent months.
These developments have also come after the highest profile coach linked to Chiefs, Pitso Mosimane has now been reported to be wanted by Saudi Pro League side Abha Club.
“At the moment there are two teams in South Africa and Vipers of Uganda interested in Mr Pasuwa. In South Africa it is Kaizer Chiefs and Richards Bay United,” said the Siya source.
“I am not sure which one is more serious because they are dealing with his agent and he could be the one that knows more than I do. But I know both Chiefs and Richards Bay are seriously in need of a coach and Kallisto (Pasuwa’s) name is on top of the list right now,” the source observed.

Pasuwa won the Airtel Top 8 Cup on Saturday, after having already clinched the TNM Super League, the Castel Challenge Cup and the FDH Bank Cup in Malawi. On top of that he’s won five league titles in a row with Big Bullets.
A second Siya source discussed what could be the biggest stumbling block for any club interested in the Zimbabwean.
“He has a contract with his current team and they are paying him very well. He has been with Bullets for close to six years now and has won five league titles with them in a row. I don’t think they will just let him go like that.
“You know even the Malawi national team wanted him before hiring Patrick Mabedi but he stayed at Bullets. So I don’t know for the two South African teams and Vipers from Uganda if they will persuade him to leave.
“His salary at Bullets is not that bad at all and he would want to see his contract to the end,” the source told Soccer Laduma.
When contacted for comment his agent Felix Ngamanya Sapao could neither confirm nor deny the interest from South Africa.
“It’s still early stages at the moment to be talking about that. Let’s wait until things are sorted out. Remember he has a contract with Bullets. He is a Bullets coach at the moment. So we can’t be saying much right now,” Sapao told the Siya crew.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment but no response was received while preparing this story.
