Snl24 | From village girl to top DJ
DJ Tsetse The Village Girl from Sekhukhune taught herself how to become a good DJ.
SHE struggled to decide what to do with her life after matric causing her to stay home for four years.
So, one day she Googled: “How to become a DJ” and it was love at first sight. But she never knew she would one day become a DJ.
Now Mamahwane Boiketlo Talane is a known DJ in Tshwane called Tsetse The Village Girl.
The 32-year-old from Sekhukhune in Limpopo told Daily Sun she taught herself how to DJ.
“I was in Tshwane when I decided I wanted to become a DJ. I had to go back home and start the journey there because I didn’t want my people to get shocked when they saw me play music,” she said.
She said she went to a local tavern and asked them to give her an opportunity to play there.

“When I started, it just came naturally and I became good. I think it’s also because my dad was a DJ himself, maybe it is in my blood,” she said.
Tsetse The Village Girl said after she polished her skills in her village, she then came back to Tshwane.
“I have so far played at events in Tshwane, and it has been good,” she said.
She said she realised that everyone has their destiny.
“There’s no way a person has lived life without doing anything. When you find your purpose or something that you are good at, the love and passion will come naturally,” she said.
She said that she recently studied communications.
“I wanted to know more about communications so that I can be able to manage myself and other artists and just be broad,” she said.
