Proteas Test coach Shukri Conrad responded to the criticism after he named a relatively inexperienced Proteas Test squad for next month’s two-Test series against New Zealand.
The Proteas named seven uncapped players in the 14-man Test squad to face the Black Caps, with Titans batter Neil Brand set to make his Test debut and wear the captain’s armband.
Conrad was forced to select an under-strength Test side, with the majority of the Proteas and South Africa’s top cricketers unavailable due to SA20 commitments.
